Charity Helps Fund ‘Lunch On Us’ Thank You Event
19 November 2021
Thanks to the generosity of London Full Gospel Church who donated to our St George’s Coronavirus Appeal, we were able to help fund the event. We are so grateful to the entire congregation for their incredible donation and were proud to invite them along on Tuesday to meet staff and thank them in person for their incredible dedication.
The food festival stretched from Sunday 14th November to Thursday 18th at St George’s with Queen Mary’s Hospital enjoying ‘Lunch On Us’ on the Wednesday.
It was well received with many Trust staff commenting they enjoyed the event, including Omo Durosinmi, a Radiology Assistant at Queen Mary’s, who said: “It’s brilliant idea, we are really grateful.”
Elera McIntosh, a Practice Educator at Queen Mary’s, said: “It’s a great gesture, and brings some new exciting food to the hospital, to get it for free is amazing.”
There was lots of great food for the staff to at St George’s enjoy with savoury options from Pulled, The Duck Shed, Yum and Bass, and Khon Thai, and sweet options of Yum Dogs and Churros Garcia.
Queen Mary’s staff enjoyed food from The Duck Shed, Soffrito, Nha Trang and Aylin Sweets.
The Arts Team at the Charity organised students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and to perform live jazz music at lunchtime each day, with harpist Catrin Meek entertaining staff at Queen Mary’s Hospital at lunchtime on the Wednesday.
Amerjit Chohan, Chief Executive of St George’s Hospital Charity, said:
“I am delighted the Charity can help fund the ‘Lunch On Us’ event. It is a great opportunity to say thank you to the dedicated and hardworking staff across the Trust for all the incredible work they do.”
